The Japanese organising guru Marie Kondo came to fame in 2011 with her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up<\/em> where she presents her method for order and serenity: a place for everything and everything in its place. All objects that don\u2019t \u201cspark joy\u201d (tokimeku<\/em> in Japanese) must go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, how can you apply this to your emails? Let\u2019s face it, many of the messages in your inbox are not exactly useful. They certainly don\u2019t bring you much in the way of tokimeku<\/em> and they aren\u2019t helpful. Their place is in the Trash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Point 3 probably is the most difficult rule to stick to.
